| lol so much going on |
And this is about my favorite ever game (series now) - Company of Heroes, back in the day I realized I was sinking too much into KW another (excellent rts) and I looked and found COH.... I had never had played the Dawn of War Series from Relic so didn't have an idea of cover system, retreats and sector capture but then I slowly understand each of these things in Company of Heroes, (those systems implemented better ofc) for the first time I was playing an RTS that made consider the direction my units were facing, weather they were in cover and retreating (made super sense, why would a couple of soldiers who have lost 4 of their companions want to satay on the battle field) once retreated, you could reinforce your squads and if you made them survive long enough they would gain veterancy and like some other rts's, veterancy did make them better, pretty good gfx which still hold up today especially with ambient occlusion on. PLUS it had awesome real-stic combat as far as tank battles. It was so good I ended up putting more than 1600 hrs into it!!!!!!!
As for Company of Heroes 2 its finally managed (like 8-9) montths after release has made a game whieh is if not better that coh1 then at least just as good.

COH2 - A must play for rts/strategy fans n if
u check metacritic know that only non russian opinions matter
google the matter to know why |
I know its a trend for gamers (pc first and now console gamers too) to like old looking or sometimes pixelated (sword and sorcery and _____) but smartly made games. I myself have liked some of them viz imbo, hotline Miami, braid, super meat ball, SWAPPER and super meatball. But I'll admit I am a fan of good graphics + game play + story too which is why I love the Fallout series, Mass Effect games etc but still one of my favorite genre remains strategy games I dunno maybe I tried them young (after games like doom and keen but still) but first time I played Red Alert I was blown away, the over top cut scenes, and then the actual game play. I then immediately tried command and conquer because I had heard cnc was like westwood's original rts and I really really loved it too. Sure I also played games like fallout and baldurs gate in those years too but strategy, rpg, racing and fighting games had become my favorite genres.

| Kanes Wrath |
And so after that introduction to how I developed my tastes for different genres of games. Later on I was privileged enough to play games like star craft (I was average online) and Warcraft two and three plus w3's expansion frozen throne, red alert 2 the cnc 3 and its awesome awesome expansion Kanes Wrath. Kanes wrath became an obsession with me and I did get quite a bit more than average in it online.
And if your wondering why games like Civilization dont make my list its because I am not a great fan. Civilization5 and too some extent Xcom enemy unknown are very hyped ganes and just like other people people buy into that hype. 'A shite stad of affeirs' as Mark Renton says in transpotting and I cant change the mind of all the wankers who buy civ5 and sing praises for it
and the classic
